Anybody going to participate in Jim Kelley's Line Amp auction this weekend (whether as spectator or player)?

Very excited for the next Line Amp auction this weekend. I am already lucky enough to own one, so I will mostly be rooting from the sidelines, but I always find it a lot of fun to see the bidding, even in prior auctions where I got outbid at the end. Anyone else going to be monitoring the fun? Even after several months, that amp continues to amaze me.

I always watch. I always bid what I can afford. Which becomes less of a chance at each auction. But I can alway hope for another :)

I do enjoy watching the bids go in over the day. Only thing that bums me out is when someone throws in a big jump in one bid early on (like happened already this morning). Takes some of the fun out of it. .

I agree. Jim usually frowns upon that too. I think he likes everyone to feel they could at least participate. For me I stick to the $50 increments. I wish the big bidders would wait until the end to give everyone a fair shake at it least having hope for a bit.

Agreed that is more fun sticking to $50 increments. Everyone knows where these will go, and everyone knows those who bid can probably afford it, so why not relax and enjoy the auction over the weekend? No need to flex. It won’t be over early no matter what one bids. I didn’t get a bid in this time only because I forgot. I thought I had put it on my calendar, but, alas, I did not hit “save”.

I seem to recall that we are reaching the end of the road with Jim’s Line Amp chassis and component stash. Anything further on this? It sounds like there may be another venture with Audio Eyra coming soon. The AE JKL “Marshall” is unbelievably good. I cannot imagine a more definitive Marshall sound, and at a manageable volume, too! Who would have thought there would actually be something new with tube amps?
