Bogner JB45

Very cool thanks for sharing.
I have to admit I kind of lost track of all the new Bogner models for years; could you please describe what this model concept is about?
Bonus question: how does it compare to older 100B Ecstasy?

This is a 30 watt KT66 based amp. it has three channels like a lot of the others. The amp has a great feel with lots of sag when you dig in. I'd say it's somewhat like the 100B in terms of having three channels, the variac, and tons of tone shaping options (almost none of which I actually use, ha ha). I would say it's a bit more "vintage" in feel. Not to say lower gain because it achieves very high gain levels if you want that.

That Bogner does sound great indeed.

Btw, would any of you have any news/insight on a potential re-release of some other old Reinhold's classics?
Thinking of things like the Fish, or simpler Marshall Rainbow-like early mods?
I've seen the Snorkler, that is cool.
I imagine Reinhold is not doing any actual mod on old amps any more, does he?

I've always loved the early Bogner "sound", his amps have a special unique character to me; I've said it multiple times but I'll say it again, my old custom 100B / modded Fender Showman was one of very few "modern" amps I've found I like as much as my old vintage amps. Wish I still had this one, was fantastic and really unique in a good way.

I’ve asked Reinhold to build a rainbow amp for close to 2 decades now. As you may or may not not know. I used to own that amp and then sold it to my past studio partner Dave. Dave recently lost his home in the Mountain Fire. As well the Rainbow amp no longer exists. I’m not sure Reinhold could actually build the rainbow without having the original to compare to. It was basically a Handwired best version of the 100B. I’ve ever heard, played or owned.

Rob, my sincere condolences for the loss of your former partner. Those fires have been terrible.
I remember you talking highly about that Rainbow Marshall, and asking Reinhold for some time about making some new version of it. I didn’t know you sold the original. Sad to know it’s gone, even if that’s nothing compared to Dave and so many other people having lost their home.

Really sorry to hear about Dave’s situation. He’s such a chill guy, and hope he rebounds from this. He was doing renovations to his home when I met him there several years ago to pick up one of his 100B’s. Got to see the Rainbow… what a piece of Bogner and amp history! Sad to hear it’s lost. Feel for all the people that were impacted by the fires… truly terrible.

Thank you Jean. I agree. It is a loss. However, I’m grateful Dave and his family weee unharmed for the most part. Losing things and your home is no small thing. But having your life and family is the most important.

Thanks Michael. Much appreciated.

You’re very welcome Rob; fully agree.
Having your loved ones safe and in good health always is the most important.
Glad to read Dave and his family are fine.
