Jim Kelley FACS Line Groove

Man it sounds great… out of curiosity, how does the od compare to the JKL? I have never played a line amp except the JKL that I recently got and the od on that amp is the best I’ve played.

I would say pretty similar. Both incredibly articulate, touch sensitive, and that bouquet of harmonics. Simply the best amps made for my ear and my style.

Those old Kelley FACS really have a unique voice & character to me in all the clips I've listened to.
Always bring me back to that 80's Holdsworth / Connors vibe; one of the most iconic US amp sounds to me, that stands on its own besides the great classics. I would even say those are "The" classic US lead amp tone to me, before Boogie.

I would agree. That sound is one of the first I heard (along with what I now know to be Dumble amps) that made me think “that’s it!”

This FACS Line is particularly special to me because Jim repaired it for me when he absolutely didn’t have to. That was my first experience dealing with him and it was overwhelmingly positive. That alone would have made me love the amps aside from how astounding they are and the legendary engineering (and truly artistic looks) behind them.

Yes, sounds great!
What cab/speaker are you using in that new clip?

This sound always makes that photo & studio scene pop-up in my mind:
