Control layout looks the same as the OG. Is this just a stouter version of that amp? I bought the OG when Tim wasn’t making any more GEMs.

Similar, but tube rectified, as far as I know. I have both. Both killers and worth having.

GEM is the original circuit designed for use specifically for the SRO. Its clarity, touch sensitivity and sustain quality is unique. Since Tim wasn’t having luck finding quality SROs. He decided to revoice and change the design for the OG. As Judd said. Layout is similar. In my experience the GEM is unique enough that it warrants having both. The only reason Tim agreee to build these again was because of availability of the Sugarcone alnico which is the best alternative I’ve found to the SRO 12 and especially 15.

Absolutely, the GEM excels at balance across clean and drive. This is what originally made it so special to me. I have another amp that does this equally but the GEM only cost me 1/4 of the cost of the other amp.
