New Bogner Ecstasy

Dear all,
I've just seen the new Ecstasy "104" model Bogner released, has anyone been able to check it?
As I was asking to Steve on TGP, main question for me would be "how does it feel/sound VS an old early 100B"?
The custom early 90's 100B I had years ago was a beast, should have kept this one.
Thanks

I’ve owned every version of the ecstasy. In my opinion none of them sounded as good as the 100. I even had Reinhold do some custom work on a classic and a 20th. Still no. Something about the simplicity of the circuit and the iron I suspect. Only thing I’ve owned that vested the 100. Was my Rainbow prototype 100 that Reinhold built when he was in Germany. Sadly that amp no longer exists after the mountain fire last year.

Thanks Rob for the input; Steve seems to love that new 104 a lot.
I'm usually an advocate for simplicity in amp design/circuit, and yes old Iron/components matters.
That old early 100B still is my benchmark for Bogner tone & feel:

I always appreciate Steve’s enthusiasm. However, I’ve found he can sometimes get caught up in the latest and greatest. Of course I will try the 104 for myself. But I’ve never been one that feels more bells and whistles on an amp make it better.

Returning to this one. I tend to love nearly everything Reinhold creates and put Bogner at the top of the list when it comes to M style (but better?) amps. I’m having a hard time not trying the 104.

I finally had some down time over the last few days and spent some time with the 100B, Super Shiva, and Pandora and I’m blown away again. The man can make an amp!!

Reinholds got an ear for sire. Great designer and great business model. Been a fan since 91.

i love his amps. i would love to have a single channel version of the 100B with KT66s.

Sounds like a modded JTM45 type of thing. I haven’t chatted with Reinhold in a while. But I bet I could make a few of those happen with some discussion and patience.

But what channel. Red or blue? I’d likely want red.

Yep, red for me. Loop or not. Variac on. I wouldn't want any other features or options.

Rob, if you can convince Reinhold to make a small run of custom recreations "in the spirit of" the original Rainbow Ecstasy proto amp, I'd be in 200%
Something like:
- constraint = straight forward single channel, to keep it simple & focused / no compromise
- one choose the channel & specs, and provides the donor amp
- Reinhold then fine tunes it to make the best of it based on the donor amp character & choice of specs / sonic & feeling goal

It's been a minute that I wish I could get the Blue Channel of that old custom early 90's 100B back (see post #3 above) 🙏
