Post some inspiring music!

This is the kind of stuff that mostly inspires and influences my music style. I just can’t get enough of it. There’s a whole universe of this type of music out there. It’s really really good.

Rob @Voodoosound , btw talking about Al, have you seen that recent concert he did on top of the Vesuvio volcano?
That must have been an experience, would have loved to be there:

Always had a particular place in my heart for great singers; after all, it's about the song & story told first isn't it?
I was listening to Steve Perry's 2nd solo album recently, released in the early 90's; such a great unique voice, and great album.

hadn't heard this one before. this is excellent. Steve Perry's voice to me is exactly how I want my guitar to sound. I have taken particular inspiration from his voice, Colin Hay, Steve Winwood, and a few others. Their singing tone embodies all great tones. Perry's voice sounds like a fantastic sounding saxophone to me.

Speaking of great vocals and stories. This one has it all. A very recent discovery for me. I’ve always loved Traffic and I think Steve Winwood is severely underrated. He does it all and exceptionally well.

This and that other Steve Winwood song you sent me the other day are just great.

I love the saxophone analogy, and love that instrument; actually kind of hesitated to start learning/playing the sax before picking up guitar if I remember correctly (at least I clearly remember trying to play a friend's sax back in early teens years). This instrument in particular always had a "singing with grain/texture" quality as I would call it.
Steve's voice clearly has that, like a natural beautiful light crunch/overdrive built in that he seemed to pull effortlessly on the right parts. Freddy Mercury is another who comes to mind that I would describe as such.

Talking about the Sax, here are a couple of the main songs that must have started my love for that sound at an early age and I always think of when talking about that instrument:

... the whole album is full of it actually :) one of the very best Live albums of all time to me btw. When Mark & the boys were at the top of the world.

And of course, there's that one too:

Talking about great singers / songwriters, "pushing" it a little further: I was posting before about the beauty of a great guitar player being able to captivate an audience alone with an acoustic guitar, I thought same could be said about singers and acapella performances.

Here's to me one of the most "goosebumping" examples I can think of, just a couple of (3) great voices, singing beautiful lyrics, melodies and harmonies:

Love that short version from the On an Island tour; gives me chills every single time when the harmonies kick in.
