Anyone tried any of his stuff? I remember him coming out of the gate with this about 16-17 years ago. It seemed a little “odd” then. Seemed like he was just promoting a regular studio compander. After hearing many clips recently. I’m curious. Especially, since some of the tech is available in a platform 10% of the original price. Of course there’s no way the pedal sounds like the transformers of the big unit.

I've always wondered the same thing to be honest; I've gone back & forth about getting one of his units ever since and still haven't decided :ROFLMAO:
I'm sure Fil is a great & honest passionate person, so I'm sure this is cool stuff.
Truth must be I'm not really convinced about the smaller pedals really getting the same sound & feel of the big tower (there must be a compromise right?), and the tower is really $$$ for a "boost"... so for now I'm enjoying the 10s of other "boost" devices I've already got.

You and I think exactly alike regarding the idea.

I still have it (the main big tower, or an original wireless unit) somewhere in a "wishlist"in the back of my mind, ifever I bump into a good opportunity used.
Fact is I love using any kind of boosting/shaping device to push the front end of my old simple amps, that's the best way to me to come with your own "sound" and tailor the feel of a rig to what you have in your head. There are so many great options way beyond actual "boost" or "OD" pedals, + how you can use all those; I've always loved using old delay units with great analog I/O stages for instance.
Then the old original wireless unit was indeed used by many of my influences, from all kinds of music genre; so I'd still be really curious to try one out.

Yeah, my curiosity always gets the best of me so I bought a used pedal (yes I know a pedal). Haha. I figure if it does anything I like. I may take the plunge and try the big unit. Like everything else I’ve come across. Can only truly experience it by using it in my own environment. Many things I’ve been curious about get used once and put on a shelf. However, I still get surprises 45 years later. Those surprises are what makes it all worthwhile.

Haha you only live once! And sometimes a little chat is all we need to take actions :)
Joke aside, fully agree that trying / playing something within your own environment, for some minimum time, is the only way to truly assess anything.
To the point that I often don't even care to plug in an amp or a guitar when I decided to buy, even if that is happening in person at the seller place.
