Can we talk about speakers for a minute?

It’s looking like late December early January. I have suggested he take pre orders like Scholz does for special customers.

Still trying to figure out how the media posting works here. It’s a bit
Different than I’m used to. Anyway, what you’re seeing is a first of its kikd
For Instrument speakers as far as I know. A “dipole” Alnico design. Usually reserved for high end sound systems and studio monitors. The price is still a little ambiguous at the moment that will get narrowed down in the next few days. However, I was told the prices likely won’t be anymore than a Celestion Alnico
Blue, Gold, Cream. Somewhere in that range. For the 12. Of course the 15 is more.

They translate exceptionally well for the instrument purpose here. Also, the beauty of a dipole design. You get all glorious sounds of the SRO at less than half the weight. Yes! It’s true. Believe me when I say. I was skeptical too. Until I heard them for myself. Wow!!

Thanks Rob for sharing, looks like a great project!
I'm all in for great unique sounding speakers, they are so important to me in any rig as I often say. Have way too many around in boxes lol

The playing is crude no doubt but it serves a purpose. Listen to the speaker. Which is which. Both 15s if you can believe it. The magic of a great 15 and overdrive. 12s coming soon.

Well I finally understand all the gushing over the Alnico EV SRO. I found an old 4 hole 12” that needed a re-cone. I had Carl at South Florida speaker fix her up and it sounds as described. Smooth not shrill, can’t wait for it to break in.

I’m looking forward to the 15” alnico SC! Speaking with Tim last week it sounds likely they’ll be available mid-Q1, to allow for QC and shipping. I’m elated with my 15” SRO and Altec cabs and will be anxious to hear the SC.

Here’s a quick prelim I did about a month ago. This is an iPhone clip. Thank you Beckstriad for hosting.
What I get from this speaker just like SRO. Is infinite detail. If you have an SRO. You know what I mean by that. What you will notice about a great Alnico is the interaction of harmonics and intervals. The way they ring out as if it’s three or four part harmony. When you have an amp that does it. You need a speaker that can interpret it. I can honestly say I have never had a speaker that interpreted it better than these Alnico sugar cones. The 15 especially. The SRO was my go to before. These sugars are just better. Believe it or not. You guys know how I roll. I don’t say it if it isn’t so.
